Scouting in the time of COVID

Hi all.

COVID has made 2020, 2021, and 2022 pretty challenging. Kids are stuck inside on screens all day, as maybe you are as well--or you are trying to get your little ones through school while you aren't even in the house.

Pack 432 aims to create a safe, caring environment for kids despite the stresses of COVID.

The parents that lead the pack (and that could be you!) have read guidelines and considered best practices to come up with a number of ways children can get back some time with friends and a sense of normalcy while staying safe. Let's talk about the ways your child can still Scout. The first thing you should know: Several den meetings are meeting in person again, with virtual options filtering in as well.

When the pack or den DOES decide to meet in person, they will follow a number of guidelines:

  1. Most meetings are split by den to reduce the number of attendees present at one time

  2. We will all wear masks and maintain social distance

  3. We will be outdoors for in-person activities

  4. Each family will try to limit the number of members attending an event to ensure that a parent is always there to assist their scout and to keep groups small

  5. Each family will confirm the health of individuals attending an event to minimize risk

  6. We ask any person feeling unwell or who has an outstanding or positive COVID test to refrain from attending any in-person events

  7. Hand sanitizer/cleaner is available at every event

It isn't easy, but we believe that we can stay scout strong together. If you have any questions, suggestions, or are interested in how to get involved with the pack, e-mail or Facebook us. We look forward to "seeing" you at our next event!
