Webelos Say What?

In 4th grade, Scouts move into the Webelos rank.  Pack 432 has a large group of Webelos and is always up for welcoming more!  But what is a Webelos? It stands for WE-BE-LOyal-Scouts - and they really are.  Our Webelos are led by Mr. Ben and meet every other Thursday from 6 - 7:30 in the Elkridge Elementary School art room.

Marked by the blue and yellow fleur de lis (or corn cob) on their neckerchief, the Webelos emerge as visible leaders and examples for our Pack.

The Webelos program is designed to build character and confidence as the Scouts grow. This year's adventures include learning to cook over a fire with Cast Iron Chef; First Responder skills including learning first aid, how to help a choking victim, and how to treat shock; improving physical fitness in Stronger, Faster, Higher; and a 3-mile Webelos Walkabout.

In October, every Webelos from Howard County has the opportunity to meet at the Broadcreek Scout Reservation for a weekend of camping and friendly competition against other packs.  The Webelos get the opportunity to show off their skills in knot tying, lashing, building and starting a fire, first aid, and more!  No one leaves Broadcreek without having learned something and made at least one new friend!
